A Chinese, cizhou-type, pillow; Song to Jin dynasty.
The top of this pillow is decorated with an elegant floral spray in brown glaze, which contrasts well with the white-slip covering the surface of the pillow; except for it's unglazed base. Pillows such as this were produced at the Jiexiu kiln, Shanxi province.

Provenance; Collection Dr. Peter Nicolaus (1940-2020), purchased 21.12.2001 from Georg Hartl, Munich.
Condition: A crack to the upper surface; see photos. Glaze condition is good, with some age-related wear.
